Building a Virtual Wardrobe Manager

Building a Virtual Wardrobe Manager

We didn't win, but I had an amazing experience at Hack & Roll 2025, organized by NUS Hackers.

My friends and I created a digital wardrobe app that chooses what you wear each day. We used React for the frontend, express for the backend, mongoDB database.

Something special about this hackathon is that it has no problem statement or theme, so you can hack whatever you want. Additionally, you only have 24 hours to create your hack.

The app we developed was called Chioset. It included features such as a clothes scanning feature, digital inventory, augmented reality, and ability to choose the outfit of the day.

The main feature I worked on was the page which displays your clothes from the database.

I also made use of the local weather API to choose colder/warmer outfits for the user. We also implemented the remove.bg api to remove the background of scanned clothes. It required a bit of tinkering to get it working correctly.

Overall, this hackathon challenged our teamwork and ability to work effectively within a short timeframe. Excited to see what we build next year at Hack&Roll.
